Let's talk about Inner Talk

Understanding inner talk is a critical part of understanding ourselves, our lives and how we view the world, yet, it is so ingrained in our behavior that most people are completely unaware of what it is and how it affects nearly everything. Inner talk consists of all the random thoughts that we think to ourselves every second we are awake. It's so important because it's occurring constantly, it never stops. The voice in our head is responsible for coloring the way we view the world. It's a filter through which all of our experiences must go through first. If we step back and look at a situation truly objectively it is neither positive nor negative until we choose one or the other.
Every time we experience anything we have the choice to either view the circumstance in a positive light or a negative one. That's the amazing part, we can choose to change the setting that we view the world through. Most people are so accustomed to thinking a certain way, that they would never consider that changing the world is as easy as a change of attitude. We cannot change the outer world without first changing our own inner world.
So how, exactly, do we make these changes?  We need to get to know our  inner selves. Consciously observe our thoughts. Instead of instantly reacting to a situation, we need to ask ourselves, "Is there anything positive that I can gain from this experience?" "Are things really as bad as I make them seem?" I've found that journalling really helps me to get in touch with my inner voice. Reading over old entries forces me to see how my thoughts progress over time, and also see when I need to make a change. Meditation is another great way that we can train our inner selves. Meditation teaches us to be aware of our thoughts and to use them in the best way possible. It has been the most liberating experience, for me,  to learn that my daily experiences are a direct result of how I view the world, what I expect, my biases and prejudices, and my fears all shape my experience, and that I can change these things at any second, I can change them daily if I'd like. We can never expect the world to change, the world is not the problem, we are the ones that need some work. Once we learn this simple fact the possibilities are endless.

Apparently, I'm bad at this...

Once again, It seems that I have dropped off of the face of the earth. (I am quite good at it). I wish I could say that I've been up to all kinds of awesome stuff, but I would hate to lie to you fine people. I mean, I have been getting things accomplished, don't get me wrong, it's just that creatively, I've been a little stuck. It's been a rough couple of months lately, I've been working nonstop trying to reach some semblance of financial stability, which as you know doesn't leave much time or will to get much of anything else done. The good news is that I have not given up, and those of you who are still out there listening, thanks for sticking around. I promise good things are on the way.
That reminds me, I have, in the midst of these crazy stress-filled months, taken on some good habits. For example, I have cut television from my life completely, well besides my weekly dose of Weeds. Does anyone else watch that show? It's completely addictive, I love it. Anyways, I've wanted to cut back on my T.V. time, so I figured why not stop completely? There is honestly nothing good that comes from watching this mysterious little box, yet it has the power to completely captivate virtually the entire nation. Not to mention, I always feel like I'm being assaulted with advertisements. It's brainwashing, I can feel myself getting dumber as I watch it. So, I am T.V. free, and loving it. Also, I have started working out on a semi-regular basis. I have started noticeably losing weight, so I must be on the right track. But above all, I feel better. I have more energy, more confidence, and I feel overall much healthier. I would recommend to anyone and everyone if you can make time for just 30 minutes of cardio a day, you will be happy you did. If I would have known that it would make me feel this great, I would have started years ago. Well, I'm starting to get restless, and my internet time is very limited these days so I'm going to leave you guys with some music that I've been obsessed with lately. The album is Sea Change by Beck. It's quite a change of pace from normal Beck, but it is so beautiful and soothing. My favorite song is Guess I'm Doing Fine, look it up!
Peace Out Guys!

I'm back =)

First of all, I would like to say hello to my few new followers. Thanks for being interested in what I have to say, you really have no idea how much it means to me.

Secondly, I apologize for completely neglecting my blog for far too long. I figured I should check in and let you all know, that no, I have not died. I've taken an internet hiatus lately, (i.e. my internet has been shut off) so hopefully you can forgive me. All that matters is the fact that I'm back now, and I have exciting news! I've been working my butt off on getting my Etsy shop up and running, and I'm proud to announce that if everything goes as planned, it will be up and have awesome clothing and jewelry in it by the end of the month.

Anyway, I don't really have much else to say, nothing to complain or rant about. Life is good. I'm all about positivity lately, life is to short to be unhappy.

Peace and Love.

What I've made recently

I know I promised pics of what I'd been up to clothing-wise a while back, alas I have a busy schedule...(i.e. lots of lazing around in my p.j.s, a job that i despise, and finding time in between to get inspired to do productive things.) Anyways, I decided to finally fulfill that promise, better late then never, right? It's not much, and the photos are not great, because the batteries in the camera are dead. So please excuse the poor quality of photos, and me not wanting to show my face. Hopefully you enjoy what I've made, and there will be more to come soon.

This is one of the first shirts I made for the line, and I still love it. It's made with a plain black tee and an old belt.

Side View

Made from an old sweatshirt and a Blondie concert tee. It's a little big on me, but you get the idea.

Up close.

A belt made from an old pair of pleather pants...yes, I used to wear pleather pants, but hey, at least I turned them into something wearable. =)
